How to Choose the Subject of your blog

Choose a Subject that interests you and which others too may find interesting. Some previous knowledge/expertise about your subject can take your blog a long way. Choose a Topic with a high CPC.

Before probing the monetary worth of the topics that we can blog about it is necessary that we understand what a blog is and in what ways is it different from a regular website.

A blog (weblog) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and displayed in reverse chronological order.

1. Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, local news, sports some function as more personal online diaries.
   


2. A blog can be focused on a single subject. It can also be based on a number of interrelated subjects. Also a blog can be dealing with a number of subjects which have no common link between them. The subject of a blog is determined by the author of the blog and he can narrow it down or broaden it up as per his wishes.
   


3. Blogs have an interactive format, which means that the readers of a blog can interact with the author of the blog by leaving comments.
   


4. The content of a blog is generated in the from of “Posts”. A post can range from a two line paragraph to a 10 pages essay. The author of the blog keeps adding posts (Posting) when he has something new to tell and thus the content of the Blog keeps growing.
   

Now that we have understood what a blog is we can move to step 2, that is choosing the subject of your blog. What should a Blogger blog about? Well the answer is simple, a blogger should always blog about a subject which he himself is interested in because then and then alone will he be able to produce some quality content for his blog. And quality content is the only thing that can make a blog successful. This means that along with interest one should also have some knowledge about the subject which he wants to blog about.

There you have it. Choose a subject that:

1) You find interesting.
2) You have some knowledge about.

Following these instructions will help you produce some quality content for your blog and that will bring traffic (viewers) to your blog.

But our aim is to generate online money from Google Adsense. Having a blog with some quality content and a decent amount of traffic is good but it does not guarantee a high or even a modest revenue from Google Adsense.

To make the maximum amount of money from Adsense you should choose a topic/keyword with high CPC (Cost Per Click – the amount of money you get for a single click on an advertisement ). Advertisements with high CPC means more money for you.

Hence if you want to make some real money from Google Adsense you should blog about topics/keywords that have a high CPC.
